ABOUT UNEDIT
Unedit is a skin positivity platform. It is a safe space to share skin stories, share art and empower confidence. The platform was inspired from my own experiences with a skin condition (eczema).
Whilst growing up I was bombarded with
retouched/ photoshopped images of models online and in magazines and thought that their body image was the norm.
This therefore made it difficult as I was never approached with anyone with similar skin to myself. This resulted in me believing that my skin was abnormal. Nowadays, my skin is a lot better and there has also been a massive movement towards skin positivity in society and the fashion industry.
However, I believe there is still not enough out there. Social media is still seen as a platform to show your ‘fake selves’ not your ‘real selves’ and users are still using retouching apps to cover any insecurities. I believe that if we all step away from retouching apps and photoshop then we will be able to encourage people who are insecure with their skin to feel confident and not alone. The aim of this platform is therefore here to celebrate females’ natural features through stories and art.

My Work
Skin Series
I am an Art Director, specialising in styling and casting. My recent work has been inspired by the lack of diverse models within the fashion industry, especially those with skin conditions. Models with skin conditions are usually used for one of diversity campaigns however until brands begin to intertwine these models within their every day content then it makes me question how genuine their intentions are, or whether they're just following a trend.
Throughout this project, I have worked with sustainable brands and casted inspiring models to try and divert away from your stereotypical model and encourage a message of skin positivity, without focusing on their skin directly.
